How To Prepare For A Snowy Move Day!
Your Complete Guide to a Smooth & Stress-Free Winter Move
Winter months have a certain coziness to them: warm gloves, quiet neighborhoods, and that soft blanket of snow that makes everything feel calm. Moving on a snowy day, however, doesn’t probably seem as desirable. However, with the right prep and the right team, a snowy day doesn’t have to make for moving blues.
Bulldogs Moving Company winter tips to keep your winter move running smoothly from start to finish:
Your Winter Move Prep Checklist
Clear & Safe Walkways Are a Must
If your driveway or walkway isn’t cleared when our crew arrives, the move will stay on the clock and may void any price guarantees. To help keep everything on schedule, make sure your driveway and walking paths are shoveled, salted, and safe to walk on.
If your driveway or walkway isn’t accessible when we arrive, our crew can usually take care of it, but this falls under standard hourly billing. Similarly, if we have to wait for a plow before entering, time begins at arrival.
Shoveling takes energy, and a cleared path allows our crew to work efficiently, keeping your move running smoothly and reducing delays.
Protecting Your Floors
If your carpets need extra protection, visqueen/contractor paper can be laid down ahead of time by you, or our team can install it for an additional charge. Please communicate this prior to move day so we can plan accordingly.
For hardwood floors, we’ll bring runners and blankets to help keep things clean and protected. Even with these precautions, having a clear path outside makes the biggest difference for move-day safety.
Expect a Little Mess
Winter weather is unpredictable. Snow and mud are just part of the season. Our crew uses blankets and rubber runners to minimize tracking, but scheduling a cleaning service after your move is always a smart idea.
A quick heads-up: our movers cannot wear shoe covers due to workers’ compensation safety rules. They’re unsafe on visqueen, blankets, and runners which are the only surfaces our insurance allows during a move.
Why Moving With Bulldogs in the Winter Is a Smart Choice
Winter comes with challenges, but our team is built for it and prepared for almost anything. Here’s what makes moving with Bulldogs a better winter experience:
Flat Rated Travel Time (AKA No “Weather Surprise" Fee)
Some companies charge an extra hidden fee for snowy days. We don’t believe in that.
Bulldogs flat-rates travel for long-distance and in-state moves so you’re never charged for delays arriving at the move outside your control. It often costs us more, but it’s the right, client-first way to operate and our crew stands by it!
Ready for Whatever Winter Sends Our Way
Whether it’s snow, slush, wind, or freezing temperatures, our movers know how to protect your items in almost any condition.
If a major storm is coming and you have moving flexibility, based on the schedule, we try to switch to a more ideal day for you if concerned. We’ll help you pick the safest, most efficient option.
A Crew That Shows Up, Even When It’s Cold
Our teams are reliable, experienced, dedicated and yes, usually caffeinated!
We don’t cancel without serious cause. Winter may be tough, but Bulldogs are tougher, and our crew takes pride in showing up ready to work.
With the right preparation and the right moving team behind you, a winter move can be smooth, calm, and surprisingly easy. Our Bulldogs crew combines reliability, transparent pricing, and winter-weather expertise to ensure your move is smooth, safe, and stress-free from start to finish.
