Pack Like A Pro
Many customers prefer not to tackle the packing themselves—and in those cases, our team offers full-service packing. But if you’re planning to handle packing on your own, we want to share some of our packing tips for moving to make sure you can be a pro!
Not All Boxes Are Created Equal
Different box sizes are designed for different types of items. Keep these guidelines in mind:
- Small boxes – Great for heavy, compact items like books, tools, etc. These boxes are also great for small decorations and breakable items, just make sure to wrap them in packing paper.
- Medium boxes – The “catch-all” size, great for kitchen items, garage goods, and miscellaneous household items.
- Large boxes – Ideal for larger items that need moved safely within a box. Avoid packing these too heavy.
- Wardrobe boxes – Designed for hanging clothes, keeping garments wrinkle-free. Use only for expensive clothes as needed.
- Trash Bags – Using trash bags is ideal for soft items like bedding, towels, throw pillows, and wrapping over clothes. Use clear trash bags to easily identify what it is and where it goes.
Plastic storage tubs also work well—just be sure to follow the same packing logic outlined above.
Where to Get Supplies
For boxes, Lowe’s is our top recommendation. In our experience, they’re the most durable and functional at a great price. If you’d rather not buy new, check out Facebook Marketplace for free or donated boxes. You can also find boxes at U-Haul or Home Depot, but Lowe’s is our go-to!
For packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, and Sharpies, Amazon is a great option. We use the Amazon brand ourselves—great quality and very budget-friendly. Their tape is particularly strong and easy to use, unlike many frustrating brands.

We typically send our professional packers the day before the move to make sure your home is fully prepped for moving day. There’s no trip charge for this service.
In some cases, when packing needs are minimal, we may pack on the same day as the move.

Flat-Rate Option – A custom, all-inclusive quote based on your home and needs. One set price covers all labor and materials.
Unpacking is charged at our standard hourly moving rate, since we work with you to place items exactly where you want them in your new space.
